I guess Indiehackers could achieve what they are discussing in that post quite easily: only allow posts from people making stripe-verified revenue above a certain amount. Then only the “serious entrepreneurs” would be able to contribute.
The problem with that though... you know what serious entrepreneurs are short on? Spare time. The moment you start limiting the community to higher up the revenue / success chain, the quieter it will be.
Any business community needs a healthy mix of participants. You need people who are already successful, people on the way up, and people who are still starting out.
That cycle of advice, learning, growth and success from mentor to mentee is exactly what makes communities interesting in the first place. If IH was just a place for “successful entrepreneurs” to say “nice metrics, bro” to each other it would be boring as fuck.
