So, I think we have well reached that point in our story when we start looking to those allies in the media we relied upon in 2015/16 to help correct the record and who helped get the word out about Russia to now publicly ask their MSM colleagues to admit their many errors.

This has to happen eventually or else the press will forever be doubted and it will leave the door open for this to happen again, and, no doubt, far sooner than it should.

Their mistreatment of Clinton and promotion of Trump were pivotal in advancing Russia's goals.

The street warfare tactics and condescending approach so many of them took with, not only declared supporters like @tomwatson and @peterdaou, but even with those presumed to be, like @JoyAnnReid and @joanwalsh (Walsh eventually declared her support), was insidious and wrong.

In fact, it is no overstatement to argue that even writing or reporting that there was the possibility that Clinton was being treated unfairly or might not be the corrupt, contrived caricature of lore often to a ridiculous level of ridicule by one's peers on social media.

Those of us outside of the media, who were insistent that a more accurate story be told, were treated w outright contempt by prominent people in the MSM.

Individuals like @MaggieNYTimes would block & label as a Hillbot anyone who tweeted them anything positive about Clinton.

I earned my Habes block for simply pointing out that Haberman had contradicted herself within the space of a paragraph when writing about Huma Abedin.

My tone was neither provocative nor condescending, and, in fact, began with a friendly "Come on Maggie you have to see..."

It is perhaps unfair to single out MH here given the vast majority, and the worst offenders, were men. But her position at the @nytimes, arguably the most notoriously malignant anti-Clinton media outlet of 2016, and her short fused disdain for any pro-Clinton voice, earned it.

Good reporting on Clinton was rarely acknowledged and often gained no traction outside of the expected circles. And with the treatment so many received for doing it, it can be argued that good reporting was actually discouraged due to the centrifugal force of peer pressure.

In the final analysis there is no equation that does not include the MSM in the political math leading the most embarrassing and destructive acts of civic and electoral malfeasance that has been accomplished against a people since World War II.

And they must atone.
