.@citizensclimate I did a quick search on youtube for videos that explain how CFD operates, and noticed a lack of simple, approachable explanations. I think this is a problem we need to fix.
This video doesn't explain how carbon fee and dividend works at all. Most people aren't familiar with CFD. The lack of understanding extends even to leaders in the environmental community (I've heard it from those whom I know to be actively engaged on a...
...daily basis with these issues for years). It would be unfortunate if the public thought CFD was just a pointless exercise in taking and returning money without understanding the mechanism by which it provides a competitive edge for low emissions goods and services, thereby...
..pricing high emissions industries out of the market.

Here's two examples of good explainer videos of alternative voting methods and how they work. This breaks down instant runoff voting.
This explains approval voting. (Not carbon fee and dividend, but another good example of an explainer video that works.)
This tries to explain carbon fee and dividend with hamburgers and salads, but it could be done a lot better.

The real champion of explainers is @Kurz_Gesagt, but just a simple video is all it takes to break down the nuts and bolts of how CFD works. Help?
@noahqk We need something that is specific to the current Act. Broad is good, but the right mix of brevity, quality, and detail is needed. Otherwise the narrative surrounding it will be ceded to it's opponents, and they have already left the gate with a big head start.
@citizensclimate This is a great graphic and FAQ, but the dynamic process (in which consumers, supported by growing dividends, shift purchasing habits away from carbon intensive products, which rise in cost) isn't obvious.

Instead, we just have a list of claims - and it's left up to the reader to connect the dots. CFD is all about dynamic change and economic shifts, so you really need a video to make that clear and show how the process plays out over time.
Remember, this is a NEW idea for most people, and the processes involved are dissimilar from other carbon tax schemes that lack a dividend component, among other things.
@EDimantchev pointed out that @yearsofliving helped start @priceonit and did this video. It's good, but it glosses over the cost comparison dynamic pretty quickly. (Can we get someone more relatable than @rbreich too?)
