All eyes are on the #TrumpShutdown but I need to get this off my chest:

It is appalling that @SteveKingIA, a white supremacist who is becoming increasingly brazen across the world about his white supremacy, can remain a Member of Congress in good standing with his caucus. /1
Steve King--who endorses #immigration restrictions and workplace discrimination against Muslims, believes that POC represent the end of Western civilization--is the CHAIRMAN of the Subcommittee on the CONSTITUTION and Civil Justice of the House Judiciary Committee. /2
When Republicans were last in the Minority, from 2007-2010, Steve King was the Ranking Member of the Immigration Subcommittee of the House Judiciary Committee--effectively the party's official, leading spokesperson on the issue. /3
After the #TreeOfLife shooting, @ADL_National urged @SpeakerRyan to strip King of his chairmanships and censure him for his history of anti-Semitic acts and his disturbing fellowship with Nazis and Holocaust deniers.

Ryan did nothing, as per usual. /4 adl.org/news/letters/l…
After King was caught on tape calling Mexican immigrants "dirt," 140 groups joined ADL in urging Ryan and @GOPLeader to #CensureKing and deny him committee leadership positions in the 116th Congress.

Again, nothing. /5 cdn.americanprogress.org/content/upload…
And just one day after that letter was send, news broke that King previously appeared on a podcast that frequently hosts (other) white nationalists. /6 cnn.com/2018/11/30/pol…
I know Paul Ryan and Kevin McCarthy would never bring a censure resolution against Steve King. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't expect them to.

And honestly I can't believe we haven't heard ANYTHING from Republicans who lost their jobs because this is no longer their party. /7
I want to know whether @RepMiaLove, @RepCurbelo, @RepMikeCoffman, @RepJeffDenham, @RepDavidValadao--who lost because they couldn't (or wouldn't) sufficiently distance themselves from the anti-immigrant Trumpist spirit that King embodies--think @HouseGOP should censure King. /8
I want to know if @RosLehtinen, @RepJoeBarton, @RyanCostello, @davereichert--Members that saw the writing on the wall and who have had sometimes more than just decent things to say about #immigration in the past--think it would be good for the caucus to censure King. /9
I want to know if @RepDavidYoung and @RepRodBlum--who lost reelection and will see Steve King return to Washington in January as the lone Republican voice representing Iowa in the House--think King should be censured. /10
I want to know what @RepSteveStivers--the outgoing @NRCC Chair--thinks about censuring King. He withheld campaign funds in the closing days of King's campaign and said: "We must stand up against white supremacy and hate in all forms, and I strongly condemn [King's] behavior." /11
This isn't about trolling Steve King--although it would be delicious to force him to stand in the Well of the House to receive an official rebuke from the body that has unfortunately given him this platform for the last 15 years. /12
I genuinely believe that it would be good for the House Republican caucus, for the Republican party generally, and for the country, if @SpeakerRyan and @GOPLeader led the whole House in sending a strong, clear signal that King's values are NOT America's values. /13
