Perhaps he doesn't have any power to bring these bills to the floor - but only because he believes the consequences if he does means the GOP loses control.

If it's Putin you're worried about, @senatemajldr, we know he wants to burn everything down, so....
But - if it's Trump you're worried about, he won't out you, you're the only safety net he has left.

Seriously. Just kick this one down the road, and bring the damn bills to the floor. Trump will throw a temper tantrum, but he won't throw away the majority.

Unless you want to have all 800,000 federal employees, plus contractors and those in their economic ecosystems itching for revenge when it comes time for your charges to be brought.

It seems like IRS employees would be a particularly bad enemy for you to make at this point.

To be clear, the terms 'white nationalist' and 'white supremacist' are not offensive. It's the ideology signified by those terms that's abhorrent, racist, & subhuman.

By trying to cast discussion involving those terms as offensive, King is trying to block debate among citizens.
Casting the TERMS themselves as offensive is a way to control and silence any debate on the topic, moving it into the realm of non-polite conversation; preventing someone from applying that label to legit supremacists restricts use of the less loaded terms from debates,
which then drives participants to use more loaded terms, like 'literal nazis.'
This fits with the RW tradition of making opponents seem irascible and unhinged through use of exaggerated terms.

Last year, I started #onethingaweek, which was sometimes fun, sometimes kind of difficult. I've handed over my post at @munichmakerlab, and tried to put more effort into @PreciousPlasMUC and @ttn_munich, which only partially worked. And I've been wondering what's in it for me...
So far I've done lots of organising for those two, and it has cost me time and money, and I'm not always sure I've seen the returns on that, in whatever means, not necessarily financially. It only sometimes made me happier, which is sort of the key thing I guess...
How am I going to approach it this year? I'm still figuring out the details, but for one, I want to spread responsibilities over more people. @LittleJoeMuc has been taking over a lot of things for @ttn_munich which I'm really thankful for.

Ultimately the campaign is to make sure all of those #AlreadyNotFine are protected from... yes: Theresa May and her attempt to extend rather than end the #HostileEnvironment. That is what settled status, the status all EU citizens have to apply for if they want to stay, is about.

1/ Let me tell you a tale of 2 states -- Alabama and California -- and our tragically broken campaign finance system.

Alabama has 6 Congressional seats with Republican incumbents being contested by Democratic candidates.
2/ 5 of those races feature a candidate who qualified to be on the ballot this November who also engaged in fundraising last year. While there are now primaries in some of those districts, only 1 candidate in each did any fundraising last year.
3/ The total amount of money raised by those 5 candidates through Dec. 31st?

$287,839. That seems like a lot of money!

Just after Thanksgiving last year, I started feeling under the weather. I was tired all the time. I chalked it up to working a long string of shifts and upped my caffeine intake. After all, I told myself..."I never get sick"!

Then, I started spiking fevers. I lost my appetite. I could feel something was wrong, but I couldn't put my finger on it. I convinced myself it was viral and that it would pass with time and rest. I continued stacking antipyretics.

OPCW tests link Syrian government Sarin to the August 21st 2013 attacks in Damascus, and the Khan al Assal attacks. The Syrian government has denied losing control of their chemical weapons stockpile. af.reuters.com/article/worldN…
