This is a really silly article that illustrates a complete lack of practicality and honesty

The practicality of a contiguous physical barrier that hinders both foot and vehicle traffic allows for far greater utilization of manpower and other resources - such as drones.
Any barrier can be overcome. But a properly maintained barrier, in conjunction with ongoing patrols - including those that can spot tunnel activity - is obviously a far more effective defense than what is in place now.
Ultimately, a physical barrier may not only prove more effective but also cheaper than an alternative requisite amount of high tech surveillance equipment that would be required to cover the same expanse of territory.
