1) President Trump recently appointed Barr as the next AG.

Barr's confirmation hearings begin next week.
2) Schumer has, predictably, called for Barr's nomination to be withdrawn:
3) Graham met with Barr:

G: Do you think Mr. Mueller’s on a witch hunt?

Barr: No

G: Do you think he would be fair to the president and the country as a whole?

Barr: Yes.
4) Barr said that when Mueller’s report is delivered to him, he would go through a process to determine what could be shared with the Congress and the public, “erring on the side of transparency.”
5) "Barr also stood by a memo he wrote last year making the case that the firing of political appointees shouldn’t be considered as possible obstruction of justice, telling Graham that it would set a dangerous precedent."

"Democrats have blasted Barr’s views on the subject."
6) Barr noted that he and Mueller have been good friends for decades.

“His opinion of Mr. Mueller is very, very high in terms of ethics and character and professionalism.”
7) Graham also said Barr told him he has a high opinion of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, but that Rosenstein confirmed that he has been looking to leave the department after about two years in the job.
8) The latest reporting says that Rosenstein intends to stay on "until Mueller's investigative and prosecutorial work is done.

The source said that would mean Rosenstein would remain until early March."
9) A story behind the story: Nine Days in May: The Quiet Struggle Between Rosenstein and McCabe

A look at events leading to the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller
10) During a White House celebration of Hanukkah on Dec. 6, 2018, Trump specifically called out to Rosenstein, who was one of the attendees.

The short exchange can be found here at the 1:35 minute mark.

It's worth the watch.
11) President Trump has now been in office for two years.

The top levels of the DOJ and the FBI have been overturned.

A flurry of high-level resignations/purges occurred in early 2017.
12) SpyGate is now much more broadly understood - and exposed:
13) Look at all that was revealed in 2018.
14) The DOJ has been busier than you might expect:
15) I remain utterly unconvinced on obstruction theory:

"I met with DOJ concerning declassification of unredacted documents."

"They agreed to release them but stated that so doing may have a perceived negative impact on the Russia probe."

I think this was investigation related
16) When you look at what Mueller has actually been pursuing, none of it touches President Trump.

Manafort has big problems. He deserves them.
17) After all that's transpired I find it impossible to believe President Trump is being held hostage by the Special Counsel investigation.

And the DOJ - w/new leadership - and an incoming AG - somehow have control and sway over this President?
18) There's still much to be done and at least two differing investigations need to come to their conclusion.

But this is not a man trapped by gov't institutions.
19) Those who have actually seen an unredacted version of Rosenstein's Aug 2 revised Scope of Investigation & Definition of Authority memo seem to be fine with it.

This includes Judge Ellis and Acting AG Whitaker
20) Finally, Whitaker gave his views on the Mueller investigation:
