I’m going to set things straight here.
I’m not egalitarian.
I’m not a third wave feminist.
I don’t like the complementarian title because it has a lot of baggage and broadly tends to water itself down to gender roles.
I support the pursuit of justice.

I want to see the truth- for women and men- and for that reason I don’t support people simply based on their gender.
I believe abortion is murder.
I am a Presbyterian Calvinist.
I am not liberal in my theology.
I want to learn more about racial reconciliation.
If you chose to harass me, disparage my character, etc, I’ll block you.
We can disagree.
You can follow me if you disagree.
But if you’re an asshole, I’ll block you.
I want to know more of you. I want to understand your perspective. I want to know why you came to it.
But it has to happen with respect.
One last one- I do tend to err on the of believing victims and survivors because I know what it feels like not to believed.

@HollyFrench17 I have a mostly public education, and while I am proud of my degrees, I rarely talk about them unless there is a specific reason to do so. Some people use their degrees as a cudgel to lend expertise to their position. I prefer to state my case and let the reader decide.

2/I decided to look at a bunch of trends to get an overall picture of how America has done since 2000. I focused on three areas;

1) Economics

2) Americans' physical health and welfare

3) The social health of America

3/In economic terms, the average (median) American is slightly richer than in 2000 - but only slightly.

We had years of slow growth followed by an enormous recession, from which we've just now finally recovered.

Recently, I was going over my godchild's homework book.

I said, "A for akara."

Someone pointed out that that was 'local'. That I should've said, "A for Apple."

This later led to a conversation with my mother, who runs a crèche. I'll share some of what we talked about 👇🏾
Recently, a Nigerian man had to go to his daughter's school to set things straight.

The girl had been given an assignment. When asked who cooks for the home, her answer was, "Daddy."

The teacher marked her wrong. In 2018. As far as she was concerned, cooking is a woman's job.
Mama and I talked about her school, home schooling and its necessity, in view of what I call the 'adversarial' system of education we have in Nigeria.

1) You know the things transgender people do that seem "gender-reinforcing" to you? Well cisgender people do those things all the time too!
In fact, the overwhelming majority of gender-conforming people are cisgender, not transgender. So why are you picking on trans people then?
