I'll agree to do this if everyone in media who quits twitter gets an op-ed column in the NYT
There are many problems with Twitter. But the WORST argument against Twitter is that it makes people angry. A lot of good in the world happened after people got angry.

People SHOULD be angry. Pleas for people to be less angry is an argument for the status quo.

Cohen could answer that question.

3. Cohen would have little ability to avoid answering questions. You can’t plead the 5th when you’ve already pleaded guilty

Perhaps he is genuinely concerned about the safety of his family

1. Sad to hear the news about @HuffPost and @BuzzFeed, where I have a lot of friends doing amazing work.

Part of the problem is that two companies that produce no journalism -- Facebook and Google -- are capturing most of the profits associated with journalism
@HuffPost @BuzzFeed 2. Think about how much of the value of search and social is based on the fact that they surface NEWS. But those platforms capture most of the money.
3. I also think it's worth examining the trade-offs when journalistic outlets are funded by venture capital or controlled by large corps

These models can inject a lot of cash into journalism but they are also don't really care about journalism. Layoffs are an inevitability.

This is a thread about fairy rings and Cletus the Slack-jawed Yokel.
Fairy rings are the circles of mushrooms you sometimes see in lawns, forests and meadows. They're pretty striking, and there are a lot of old folktales attributing them to fairies, elves and witches. One Dutch folk tale has it that these rings are where the Devil churns his milk.
The modern understanding is less mystical but still worth geeking out over. Fairy rings grow in a circle because all the mushrooms are part of the same fungus. Underground, they're all connected.
