WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH), the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, sent a letter to United States Attorney John H. Durham seeking an update on his ongoing criminal investigation into Former FBI General Counsel James Baker.
Excerpts from the letter:

“We know the DOJ and FBI departed from traditional investigative and prosecutorial practices, and insufficiently adhered to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).
The Committees learned that in some instances, high-ranking DOJ and FBI officials, including the FBI Gen. Counsel James Baker & DOJ Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr, took the self-described “unusual” step of inserting themselves into the evidentiary chain of custody.”
“During the course of our investigation we interviewed former FBI General Counsel James Baker and discovered your office is investigating him for unauthorized disclosures to the media …
We are writing to request additional information about your ongoing criminal investigation of James Baker, as disclosed to the Committees by Mr. Baker’s attorney.”
