It is defined by the learned ones well versed in Hindu Shastras AND also lives by their rules. It is defined by age old customs. It is defined by Vedas.

It's certainly not defined by fancy tweets and books!
Contrary to what people think, Hinduism isn't some open ended broad category that allows one to do whatever one wants to do and yet allows himself/herself to be identified as Hindu. That's called religion of convenience. Not Hinduism
Without googling Can you name even 10 important Shastras dealing with Hindu customs?
