The UK and Australia have signed a Mutual Recognition Agreement designed to continue with existing EU-Australia arrangements.

The claim (false) — with "no deal" the UK can continue to trade with the EU on present terms for 10 years under an interim deal notified to the WTO.

Yes, GATT Art.24.5 has a 10-yr “reasonable length of time” for interim agreements

So, the first hurdle: the EU would have to agree.

In other words

1. There has to be a deal of some kind
2. The EU would almost certainly insist on a Withdrawal Agreement and backstop

If this is agreed, then no need for an interim agreement at all. But let's continue

I'd add one crucial point to @DmitryOpines's thread.

Leaving the EU with no deal eventually, is not very good for the UK, but you could make a case for it.

Leaving it overnight ("crashing out") is far, far worse.

Yes, lots of countries trade well with the EU “on WTO terms”. If, like them, the UK had never been in the Single Market, it would do well on WTO terms too.

Just one example: this clip is from a longer @BBCNewsnight report on the medicines a dialysis patient needs. Given enough time to make new arrangements (months), she would be guaranteed medicines & ability to travel.

No deal on March 29? No hope.

Here's the indictment for Rep. Chris Collins (R-NY). Feds announced insider trading charges against him and his sons this morning. Collins was an early supporter of Trump's presidential campaign and served on Trump’s transition team. documentcloud.org/documents/4639…

Here are the observables from David Davis’s appearance at the @CommonsEUexit. It’s a long thread folks, but I hope a handy digest of his thoughts.
1. Davis does not believe the Irish backstop will require NI to have any different arrangements to the rest of the UK, nor does he believe the rest of the UK will have to align with EU rules for the backstop to work
2. Davis regards June as an artificial deadline for the backstop to be operationalised in the legal text, and says @campaignforLeo agrees with this

In response to the scandal, Zuckerberg is going to hand over regulatory power on the use of data for academic research to, and I'm not making this up, the Charles Koch Foundation.
Facebook's data about the public is data to which the public has rights. A cartel of Facebook and large foundations over that data is... not good.
