<DON JR THREAD> The prospect of a @DonaldJTrumpJr's indictment has been hanging in the air for weeks. @traciemac_Bmore and I have been looking at the transcript of his "interview" in front of the @USSenate Judiciary Committee from Sept 7, 2017. 1/11 
Much of the testimony is about the July 9 "adoption" meeting at Trump Tower that was initially billed as an offer to share dirt on Hillary Clinton. Jr. invited Manafort and Jared to the meeting but can't recall ever discussing it with them. 2/11 @traciemac_Bmore
Donald Trump Jr. also couldn't recall one of the eight participants at the meeting. Maybe that because Rinat Akhmetshin is a former GRU spy and a prominent lobbyist? 3/11 @traciemac_Bmore
We also learn about an offer from Russia's Facebook V Kontakte to create a "Vote Trump 2016" group targetted at the roughly 2m Russians living in the USA. 4/11 @traciemac_Bmore
Jr. claims he was lured into the meeting under false pretences by Rob Godstone, that it was about adoption and not about help for his father's campaign. 5/11 @traciemac_Bmore
But it is interesting that even though "Russian help for the campaign never came up", Goldstone did follow up on that "Vote Trump" proposal. 6/11 @traciemac_Bmore
There's a series of questions about Don Jr.'s statement once the meeting had been reported. @wapo says Donald Trump drafted it, which could constitute an obstruction of Justice.7/11 @traciemac_Bmore

Lots more "I don't recalls" about ALFA Bank, Konstantin Kilimnik and other Russians, and limited acknowledgement of Paul Manafort, Rick Gates and Konstantin Kilimnik, and one qualified confirmation on Torshin. 9/11 @traciemac_Bmore
For Don Jr., the Moscow Trump Tower met its demise because of "deal fatigue". Contrast that with Michael Cohen and Giuliani's assertion it was discussed for most of 2016. 10/11 @traciemac_Bmore
