I am surprised for all that talk about raising money or building unicorns - there is very little literature on what it takes from a founder perspective. 2 person team to 200+ team - that's 100x. now take that to 1000+ ppl. 500x. how do you change your thinking to 500x? 1/n
olden day kings - they dreamt of gigantic structures, colosseum, palaces, temples, the hampi chariot way - how did the mind master imagination to scale 500x? - any texts? from operating at 2-3 quarter outlook to 2-3 years to eventually building brands that outlast you. 3/n
to build something of that enormity - what does it take - physically, mentally. what is the secret sauce? how do we unlock the true potential of our imagination? As someone once said - your limitation is as much as your imagination. @firstround @farnamstreet @naval any pointers?

10 point pitch/Premise on why @PickYourTrail has a solid shot.

1. Increased air connectivity

Goair has launched direct flights from Mumbai to male. Blore to male. Blore to Phuket. We have had more than 50 new international routes from india added in the past 12 months.
2. Domestic fares much greater than international ones. (Mostly true for short haul trips and even some long haul trips)

I did MAa-BOM-maa last month. Same dates MAa-SIN-MAA was cheaper. So was BKK return. Vizag Perth return at 18k. Jaipur Bkk return 6k.
3. More countries will go visa on arrival.
Malaysia has E-visa. NZ and Aus as well. Turkey too. The power of the indian passport will only increase over time.

This article resists that grammar more than most. The title is in active voice. There is an actor, the officer, who shoots and kills someone.
Officers responding to the scene “fired at Roberson – killing him.” Still active voice.

It is absolutely dangerous to see something that might be sexual harassment and not verify that it is not. And it is absolutely your business to verify that. Once you have done so it stops being your business again. This is why you talk to the person whose ass was grabbed.

Idk, and I’m not saying what it should be, but I have typically worked in places with a lot of young people under pressure and together 24/7. Sometimes traveling. So.
If I walk in on people kissing, I quietly melt into the bushes like Sean Spicer.

If it’s affection clearly returned like holding hands or touching each other’s knees I say nary a word unless one is my friend and I have to say “come on keep it less obvious or everyone will know”

1/ Let's talk about fundraising: In 2009, Y Combinator only gave us $15K, half our YC batch died after demo day, 11 firms told us no, 2 firms wanted to find us a CEO, 1 VC told me, point blank, we would fail, we were a week away from death but luckily raised $500K @ 2M pre.
2/ A lot has changed: huge valuations, more capital available, funding vehicles at all stages, "founder friendly" is the norm, uncapped conv notes, seed stage is the new series A, YC isn't as tight knit anymore, hire a COO is the new replace the CEO, & a16z is the new Sequoia 👀.
3/ Some things haven't changed in fundraising land: male dominated/biased, herd mentality, VCs still struggle to pass on a company directly, top 5 firms founders want to raise from are relatively the same, access is still intro-based, and raising money is still a drain.
