Years ago, I remember seeing this cartoon going around Reddit where this dude is writing something Super Important on social media and gets pissed because he's ignored while a woman posts about fashion and gets a ton of attention. And *a lot* of Reddit users loved it.
The cartoon seemed written to reflect annoyance with the Quality of Discussion on social networks and thus, an indictment of social media and frivolity and, obliquely, an implication of anything that receives heavy interest from women. Because women are not Serious Thinkers.
In reality, a lot of dudes regurgitate the same shit they heard from other dudes regurgitating similar shit, so that we get third-generation shit that's presented with an air of authority and the expectation of praise for saying it.

Moreover, god forbid a ton of people relate to something you don't understand and/or haven't experienced.
ttI mean, there are men out there who spend an enormous amount of time on gaming, sci-fi, sports, etc., and that's perfectly fine! Enjoy that. Be happy. But turning around and shitting on things that a lot of women are into because you can't relate? Not a great look.
