Fine.

You want to know how shit the job market was for millennials?

I got an MBA with an accounting focus about 3 years after the recession first hit and I STILL couldn't land an accounting role for another 2-3 years after that. I was working call centers and amazon warehouses.
Getting into universities? That didn't guarantee you even getting ACCESS to a marketable degree. Because those universities are subdivided into schools. And those schools controlled who got what degrees. No one fucking warned us about that when we were getting into college.
And then, here's the really fucking devious part, and I say this from personal experience having witnessed (but thankfully not falling) for it.

People trying to get productive-sounding degrees like psychology and the like, if it looked like they might not graduate in 4 years...
get actively PUSHED towards art school or some such bullshit. Yeah. Girlfriend I had was a psych major, said her fucking academic adviser told her to transfer to the art school to get into a career of 'art therapy' for children. I didn't believe her.
Then one day I was going to see my academic adviser, was sitting outside the door, and heard another academic adviser talking to a student suggesting THE EXACT SAME FUCKING THING.
In order to improve the stats for some schools, they were taking any student who looked like they might not graduate in 4 years and shoving them to the art school where no one cared when those students graduated. Art school, arts&sciences, those are DUMPING GROUNDS FOR STUDENTS.
You don't understand what happened to your nieces and nephews in college, how they came out with such useless degrees?

Well, I'll tell you.

The universities, public and private alike, fucking scammed them, scammed their parents, scammed the fucking banks.
All of you motherfuckers that ask, 'well, i went to college too, i don't see why millennials are doing so poorly.'

You're making the assumption that the universities you went to are the same ones your kids went to.

They're not.
They weren't the same. The administrative aspects of the colleges have bloated to absolutely unreasonable sizes. The student support services are actively hidden beneath several layers of bureaucracy and tucked away in forgotten corners of campus students don't even know exist.
The complaint and dispute resolution mechanisms that exist to fight against jackfuck tenured professors who try to fuck students over are labyrinthine and kept even more hidden by administrators and professors who work together to cut down on the amount of work they have to do.
Universities are supposed to be a public service. In your days, they may very well have been public services. But now they're often little more than money laundering schemes. courier-journal.com/story/news/edu…
They bring your kids in, throw a massive curtain over the administrative resources they have access to except for financial aid which is in a big central building that everyone has to pass by at one point or another, and then fleece them and you for every dollar they can.
Then invoke words like 'tradition' and 'history' to make you think that your kids went through the same process you did because that's what tradition and history imply.
And RIIIIIIIIGHT when the first millennials are getting out of college and realizing how utterly fucked they are, and riiiiiiiight when it looks like universities might start taking some flak for being useless pieces of shit...

TITLE IX! SEX ASSAULT ON CAMPUS! DAMN DIRTY BOYS!
"Ohhhhhh, yeahhhhhh, your kids are just too busy partying on campus, look at all this sexual assault and rape that's happening, you should just let us parent your kids for you, don't worry, we have tribunals and such to deal with this, we're TOTALLY RESPONSIBLE."
