For the future of news nerds: TPM now has a total of 29,422 subscribers. 26,193 of those are Prime, our core subscription. 2,918 have now upgraded to Prime AF, the ad free version of the site we launched last week. 311 subscribe to Inside, which is inclusive of the first two.

2/ Altogether, subscription revenue now accounts for over 50% of the company's total revenue and we anticipate it will be closer to 60% on an annualized basis by the close of this year. This compares with subscription revenues totaling 16% of revenue as recently as 2015 and ...

3/ 6% in 2014. This is against total revenues which have risen modestly but consistently over the last five years. Our major effort this month was the launch of Prime AF, which involved a several months' long refactoring & rebuilding of the system we use to manage subscriptions.

4/ This was partly required to launch Prime AF but was also critical more generally to have an integrated subscription/publishing engine of the quality and robustness necessary to sustain our reliance on subscriptions as the core of our business model. It's a great system ...
