I can't believe Ralph Northam briefly considered demonstrating the Moonwalk in a press conference as a way to prove he dressed in blackface as Michael Jackson for a dance contest in the '80s in order to convince folks he didn't appear in blackface in a photo on his yearbook page.
I cannot believe how close we came to seeing that. Would there have been a rip in the fabric of the space-time continuum? Would we have all died?
I'm guessing at least 70% of the folks who follow my feed but aren't watching this press conference think I'm joking. I am not joking. This is actually happening.

It's true! Sanders joins Harris, Warren, Brown, Gillibrand, Klobuchar, Booker, and Gabbard among *current* federal-level elected officials who have perfect scores from @HRC.

So, basically, everyone who fits that particular description had a perfect score in 2018.
And if Merkley joins the race, he also has a perfect score from HRC.

Biden, Castro, Hickenlooper, Buttigieg, Inslee, Bullock, Bloomberg, McAuliffe, and Kerry are not current federal-level elected officials, and have no score.

O'Rourke left Congress with a score of 100 in 2018.
So, I guess what I'm trying to say is: a score of "100" is laudable and marks excellent LGBTQ allyship in Congress, but it's not a distinguishing factor in this group of candidates. Which is a good thing!

How convenient that the only freshmen representatives in Congress that are being admonished to "listen and learn" all happen to be women. What an extraordinary coincidence.
I just counted at least 25 men who are freshmen in Congress and have no previous experience in elected office, and weirdly, none of them--as far as I can tell--have been told they need to "listen and learn".
There may be more. I admittedly blacked out from rage after the 25th man I counted.

Our narrative must always be that Northam did nothing wrong by dressing up in a silly costume. If we call him "racist," we push the lefts politically correct agenda.

It's fun trolling dems, but what he did wasn't racist - it was a joke Halloween costume. Society MUST lighten up!
Wearing "black face" or a silly KKK hood as a costume is NOT racist.

We're allowing the left to define everything under the sun, and then we go along and play by their rules.

That's not how you win and that's certainly not how you take control of the message.
Liberals are united against Northam & virtuously cleansing their movement of evil "racists."

Meanwhile, on our side, conservative idiots are calling on "racist" Northam to resign & saying dumb shit like, "Imagine if a Republican did this..." You're useful idiots for the left.

I have some thoughts about Ralph Northam and white male privilege and hubris.

As I’ve said before there are a number of naked pictures of me in the world. I’m not ashamed of them, but I’ve always known that they would be a barrier to my entering public life. So I haven’t.
There is def a part of me that is somewhat sure that I would be a moderately successful politician. People are drawn to what I am saying and people are always ask me to run for office.

But I know those pics exist and I don’t really want to explain them to the public or my fam
I would also never put the Democratic Party in the position that would have to explain my actions.

Now, I am clearly not the same person who took those pics. When these pics were taken I was a pansexual polyamorous very fun person.

I am a boring monogamous person now.

Ralph Northam has proven to be an ally to the black community in Virginia and the nation. I believe he is an example of someone who may have held hostile views of blacks & those views have positively changed. I adamantly believe redemption is key to civil rights
However, the GOP has no desire to join the fight for civil rights. They have no desire to end racism in this country. They've grabbed hold to the white male identity politics that fueled slave holders to Jim Crow to segregationist to Ike, Nixon, Reagan & Trump.
The GOP discovered medical school photos with black face and someone in a KKK robe that may or may not be him. Those photos were wrong. I would not call on someone who has proven not to hold those views now to resign but we don't live in a time where nuance gains traction.
