Currently reading #TheCattleRearerChronicles by @phoenix_agenda. I followed the series on Medium but I'm curious to see how it was put together as a book. Will be sharing excerpts about the past 4 years under Parosident Buhari on this thread. Join me!
I followed this series but the book is almost like a completely different piece of work. Guys, if you haven't already, you should grab this book sharperly from @thebookmarketNG, @Okadabooks or Amazon . The analysis is incisive and easy to understand. #TheCattleRearerChronicles
Why is GDP growth important? If you can't answer this question without help from Google, you need a copy of #TheCattleRearerChronicles. @phoenix_agenda breaks it down to primary school level. Grab your copy from @Okadabooks, @thebookmarketNG or Amazon. You're welcome. ☺️
“I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody.” 😭
Once upon a time, actually on May 29 2015, Parosident Buhari gave a rousing speech and the people cheered. Oh well, talk is cheap... 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️
I love how this book refreshes my memory. #TheCattleRearerChronicles
"It probably was a bad idea to elect someone who thought about the Army, Navy and Air Force when he was asked about securing the economy." - @phoenix_agenda 😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣 Kai. You people have mouth sha. #TheCattleRearerChronicles
Government is the biggest individual spender in Nigeria. It has the biggest impact on the economy not because of its spending power but because it shapes and determines economic direction and outcomes through its policies. #TheCattleRearerChronicles on the cause of the recession.
"The government through its fiscal policies, and the CBN through its monetary and
exchange rate policies make or mar the economy." Here's the kicker, Buhari had no Minister of Finance for 6 months and CBN monetary policy was shambolic, to say the least. #TheCattleRearerChronicles
Point of disagreement, @phoenix_agenda. Buhari didn't tacitly support CBN's FX mgt policy. It was Buhari who ensured CBN took the stance because he was not convinced about the need to "murder the Naira." An economic illiterate made the decision for CBN. #TheCattleRearerChronicles
You can get copies of #TheCattleRearerChronicles on Amazon and @Okadabooks instanter! You can also buy from @thebookmarketNG in Abuja and @patabahbooks in Lagos. More venues coming up soon. Grab copies for your self and loved ones. Thank me later. ✌️
Ladies & gentlemen, I resume my thread of excerpts from #TheCattleRearerChronicles with this offer for the Lagos people on my TL. You can get a free copy of the book by replying this tweet. 4 copies up for grabs & first 4 people get it. It's that simple. No wayo, no mago mago. ☺️
Point of disagreement, @phoenix_agenda. Importation of fuel started as far back as 1984 under Buhari and became worse under Babangida. That's when the refineries fell into disrepair. Of course, it continued under Abacha and OBJ inherited it. #TheCattleRearerChronicles
Ladies and gentlemen, this is a heading in #TheCattleRearerChronicles 🤣
1.4 Required Reading : Introduction t o New Terminologies by Ibe Kachikwu
Who remembers "price modulation"?
You need to get this book. It's 🔥🔥🔥
When technocrats like Kachikwu came into the picture they had so much to amend while still taking instructions from someone who was… stuck in the socialist thinking of the 80s and was bereft of any ideas useful for running a 21st century economy. #TheCattleRearerChronicles
"In 2019, it is projected that debt servicing costs will be N2.14 trillion, higher than the budget for capital expenditure—in a country with a huge infrastructure deficit." #TheCattleRearerChronicles You post consistently terrible revenue performance yet increase budget every yr.
Just reading about AfCTA again. Na real wa!
"Q4 2017 Nigerian Bureau of Statistics report on Trade, Nigeria's exports of manufactured products to Africa is almost double exports to Europe and Asia, 6 times more than exports to America." #TheCattleRearerChronicles
The government cannot deal with corruption because it lacks viable ideas and a political will to do so. The General cannot deal with corruption because he lacks the competence to do so. The lack of competence has led to the reign of impunity. #TheCattleRearerChronicles
On the illegal state bailout granted by Buhari's regime:
"People who were willing to scrutinise every action of the previous administration, subjecting every move to the probity of the microscope, went mute." #TheCattleRearerChronicles
"Buhari made all the right noises during campaigns, as much he was allowed. The strategy seemed to have focused on reducing his talk time as much as possible, even dodging the presidential debate." #TheCattleRearerChronicles
He is even more incoherent now. 😭
The list of corruption issues under this regime ehn... Who still remembers the drama surrounding Amaechi's confirmation by Senate? Anyway, you can get more in #TheCattleRearerChronicles. I am not going to share the whole book. 😛
