That's right. What I was saying is that a minimum three weeks election campaign means the election has to be called by February 28th

So the Tories have got 18 days to call a general election.
Now, a leadership contest would take at least three weeks, so when you add it up, there is no longer time enough for the Tories to change leader and have a general election

All the Tories can do at this stage is change their leader - which they should have done a year ago - and then stop Brexit.

They have got no time left to include a democratic element in the decision to stop Brexit. No time for an election, no time for a referendum.
They're going to have to take responsibility and do it themselves. And then explain it to the country.

It's going to be quite an experience for a lot of these MPs. This is going to be the first time they have to take responsibility.

Unless, of course, the Tories choose not to sack Theresa May even now. Then she will end up dragging them into a general election which Labour will win.
And that's the United Kingdom gone forever.

And this is what I've been telling them for the last two years. As soon as Theresa May lost her majority, I told them, either you sack Theresa May and abandon the whole project or you will break up the country.

You explain this stuff to them. With a bit of foresight you can take them through the whole thing step by step, how May wanted a new treaty, didn't get one, couldn't get a withdrawal agreement through without one, and hit a dead end.

I didn't even charge them for the explanation. I fucking could have. If they had paid for it they would have listened because that's human nature. But they didn't pay so they wouldn't listen.

I told them, you pursue Brexit and you will end up dissolving the United Kingdom. And I took them through it step by step, how that was going to happen.
And here they are. A withdrawal agreement parliament won't accept. No time to change their leader. No time for a referendum.

Because if Theresa May drags them into an election now, the SNP is going to sweep the board in Scotland, and if they can help Labour into government in exchange for a referendum, that's it, Scotland's gone, and no more union.

But the Tories have left it so late that even if they do change leader, they still get dragged into an election that they will find it very difficult to win.
And again, no more United Kingdom.

And for two straight years I've been explaining exactly how they were going to end up losing the union.
Two years ago I saw this. And most Tory MPs are so fucking thick they can't see it even now when it's right in their face.
