There’s been pressures from different quarters by some desperadoes to have postponement of elections in some select states. This was influenced by various level of sabotage to INEC from PVC Card hijack to burning of their offices in some states.
Since this didn’t deter INEC from going along with their insistence on conducting a uniform presidential poll nationwide across states in congruence with the provision of section 132(4) of CFRN, then we started seeing news about missing materials & figurative killings.
Along side other logistic cum technical issues that may mar the election thus firing the possibility of staggering the polls as pressured but the INEC Chair took the high road by postponing instead of having Osun type kind of arrangement in the affected States.
A decision I personally will laid as being in the interest of our democracy and credible polls. If the Chair had capitulated he would have been liable for contravening or subverting the provision of the constitution. Some states wouldn’t have been able to participate today.
So the plot failed to suppress voters in about 10 state which coincidentally are opposition strongholds or states of interest. No one knocks iNEC as hard as I do and I would have loved to throw them under the bus for this but for some things I see through lucidly.
I was only pissed about their lack of empathy on the lives that was disrupted based on the unplanned postponement. They should have acknowledged their failings on that and made it up to the corpers & adjoc staff as well as apologized to Nigerians whose events were affected.
