In Political season there is nothing people won’t throw when they know they have lost a battle. They would slander, lie, twist facts & distort history, which could be very dangerous in a society where history is not taught and the truth is forbidden. But let me try & educate.

No doubt I encourage the development of youthful sleuths but the cyberdelic concrescence Political blackmailers must be put in their place if not litigated for deference. As a Valuer I’ve had cause to work in Ilorin, (Muri Adi Associate, Taiwo road) in my years of attaché.

My first boss is also a formidable son of the soil (the father of property rating in Nigeria & a renowned valuer). University of Ilorin Assets Valuation was one of my first tasks right after ApexMill. But I digress just to provide a background to my understanding of the terrain.

Thus it will be a grave injustice for me to see things like this & ignore the fundamental teachable moment that prejudicial element would deem a Saraki fail. Even though this slanderous & malicious statement began in 2013 credited to an Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe...

...a cross between a native Doctor and desperate politician falsely claiming that Mrs Toyin Saraki was involved in an alleged sake of Ilorin Matropark, previously known as the defunct Ilorin Amusement Park. There however was a response to this then 👉🏽allafrica.com/stories/201302…

But you know in malicious politics, malevolent elements will continue reiterating their untruth for notiety and reaction maybe something would stick to their advantage. But let’s look at public records as educated people shinning our lights instead of casting shadows.

Circa 2004, Mrs Saraki as a charitable gesture, undertook the renovation of a section of that park, which had been left to rot for decades preceding her husband's term of office as Executive Governor of Kwara State.

Mrs Saraki landscaped the environment which she had met as an overgrown weed and thickets-filled land used as a den of drug dealers and prostitutes into a modern children's playground which she donated.

She also undertook the restoration of the fallen soldiers monument marked yearly on Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

In addition, during this restoration, Mrs Saraki, discovered a wild crocodile, starving chimpanzee and feral donkey, and facilitated the relocation of these 3 animals to the Ilorin Zoo for appropriate care.

The traders in the market close to the park would acknowledge the notoriety of the shoplifting feral Donkey in those years, when he’ll trot to the market & shop for what it likes then dump same at cozy corners of the park to feed on to his heart’s content. May God rest his soul.

It is worthy of note that it was during the clearing of extremely dense ground creepers & decades untrimmed foliage of the site, that the landscapers engaged for the restoration came across a section containing long neglected graves, ...

...which were immediately cordoned off & preserved undisturbed, as a sign of respect for the dead.

At no time during this charitable pursuit, aimed at providing free outdoor recreation facilities to children, did Mrs Saraki seek to exercise any proprietorship whatsoever over the abandoned amusement park, renamed Ilorin Metropark by its owners, the Kwara State Government.

Suffice to say that Mr Oloriegbe in 2012, through a newspaper apparently under the aegis of Ilorin Elders Descendants Progressives Union had sought to join her in a suit challenging the alleged sale of the park to a party unknown to Mrs Saraki.

As a law abiding citizen of good reputation, Mrs Saraki immediately engaged legal counsel to approach the court to enquire why her name should be associated with a matter she knew nothing about, ...

...signifying her intention to be represented, and stating clearly and unequivocally that she neither owned nor sought to own any interest whatsoever in Ilorin Metropark, at any time.

Mrs Saraki's legal counsel have not heard a word from the court or about the case ever since.

At that time in 2012, She was implored by several members of the IEDPU as gathered, that Mr Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe claimed to represent, to give him the benefit of the doubt, that he had hastily rushed to court on false hearsay, ...

...at which point Mrs Saraki chose to await any further news or formal communication, of which there was none.

Just like I have cautioned the online amoral griots mildly in a thread, I believe this fellow should be cautioned sternly, especially as he aspires for senatorial seat under APC. His griots as well should pick another pot to haul to establish his notoriety void of slander.

Thus, his current trajectory of irresponsible & malicious prosecutorial misadventure will be taken seriously especially by one who abhors issues of libel, slander & criminal defamation & will not hesitate to take any & all steps that may be appropriate to defend her reputation.

Anyone with a pulse & conscience would be horrified by the baseless slander of Mr Oloriegbe & his griots, especially by the neglect of the discovered graves, which appeared in 2004 not to have been tended since 1974 commissioning of the park by the late Military Governor Innih...

...if Oloriegbe & his choir had cared for the graves of their ancestors and by extension the park, why would Mrs Saraki’s considerable philanthropic gesture towards that park in 2004!be necessary?! 🤔

Finally, while it may be inconceivable to the likes of Mr Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe that a philanthropist may give without expecting anything in return, such generosity towards the Ilorin Metropark and thus the children in the surrounding communities, 15 years ago in 2004, ...

...one that his and his slanderous co-travellers’ repugnant penchant for the authoring of false petitions, instigating baseless malicious prosecutions, and the spreading of defamatory fake news and hate speech, aimed at inciting reputational and even physical injury...

...upon well meaning charitable individuals, will not help slanderous elements like Mr Oloriegbe and his co-travellers, are exercises in futility, which will not yield any political advantage save their currently dubious notoriety and infamy.

Indeed it is said proverbially, that what Tom and Dick say about Harry, is far more revealing of Tom and Dick than of Harry - thus the eyes and tongue of the future intended looter is firmly fixed on their future intended loot.

They should consider what legacy they leave for their own past, present and future generations as Kwarans are wiser than what they think in the folly of their perambulating and perennial misadventures.

I strongly believe Mrs Saraki reserves all her rights to take further action should such be warranted.

A good name is better than precious ointment. People who deploy character assassination as a tool usually don’t have a good name & sadly this can’t be bought. Think deeply before you join the motley crowd in clobbering people because of prejudices without checking the veracity.
