I am friends with a Pakistani girl at work. And let’s just say it’s been a little awkward for a few days now.

No, not like that. But with the whole #PulwamaTerroristAttack situation going on. I haven’t uttered anything regarding it, but she seems tense with my silence.. {THREAD}

Stressed that I hate her all of a sudden because of how her family’s country of origin has disgraced her everytime. What would you say to her if you were in my shoes?

“You’re a nice person, but your country’s fucked up so now I gotta hate you?”. That’s not how I was raised.

I was taught to love my birthplace, my motherland & my mother tongue. I was taught to respect men & women equally; regardless of their race, religion or culture. I was taught to love my enemies just as much as I want to loathe them. I was taught to give & never seek to take.

I was taught to defend & protect, but never project crass hatred or enmity to anyone who simply is against me. I was taught to observe individuality & not judge based on contrived classifications of mankind. I was taught to fight for my countries, but not to be senseless in war.

When I see that young woman fear for a loss of a decent friendship, I feel like shit. Her country is filled with polluted demons, but it’s her & many other normal citizens who are paying for it. Not the actual dickheads who lead the brainwashed ideologies unto their people.

I know her stance, she hates violence in the name of Islam. In fact she protests against it. She faces flak amongst her culture.

I urge our people to look for a fight. Yes a fight. But not against Islam. Not against the defenceless innocent mothers & children of their country.

Let’s kick ass against the barbaric brainwashers who have instigated war & hatred among nations. They need to be our target, not those poor innocents.

Patriotism doesn’t mean a random bloodbath, it’s the rage against the filth that has attacked us.

Pakistan has hurt us. Again and again. This is not a peace thread. We’re over that. But this is a reminder of who are our enemies. Don’t forget who they are.
