Today is THURSDAY.
Yesterday was WEDNESDAY.
Wednesday is NEW COMIC BOOK DAY.

All of which means, when put together, that I am now the published author of an X-Men ongoing.
THE AMAZING NIGHTCRAWLER is only five issues long (I almost typed six just there, that's how much I don't want this to be over), but it's still an ongoing. Same creative team, same editor (hi, @chrisrobinson!), same everything for five issues.
Even if Marvel decided tomorrow that I was too me to work with ("me" can mean so many things, from "distracted by novels" to "filled my editor's office with live frogs"), I would still be the author of an X-Men ongoing. And that's amazing.
But, y'know. I don't want that. I want them to love me and keep hiring me basically forever, because I am clean and fast and I take direction well but I also have things to say, and I can say them in the spaces where the story breathes.

That's where you come in.
Comics are driven by monthly sales far more than they are by trade sales. Which sucks, I know! Trades are easier to store, they don't require special storage, and they deliver a complete story in one sitting. I genuinely get it.
But that's the way the world works, and while it's changing, it hasn't changed yet. It's going to take a while. So: IF you can comfortably afford it, and IF you want to encourage Marvel to see dollar signs when they look at me, and hence keep giving me work, here's my request:
Please buy my issues as they come out.
Please buy SPIDER-GWEN and THE AMAZING NIGHTCRAWLER and little mylar bags to put them in and keep them safe. Or set them on fire, whatever makes you happy, they're yours now. Because you bought them.
No one is going to search your house to see whether you're treating your comics well before they decide whether I get to write more of them. I promise. But someone is going to look at those sales figures and go "yeah, give her more toys to play with."
Again, only do this if you can afford it. I know comic books are expensive. I buy them too. But if you can, well...

Being able to write for Marvel means the world to me.
