I’ve just spent the last 72 hours on and off in the #publichospitalsystem and I have a few thoughts to share. I just want to mention that I have worked in the #publichospitalsystem myself for 20 years and I am a firm #believer in our universal healthcare system
Overall I had great care. I was involved in a collision in an indoor mixed soccer game and I fell backwards on my head. I felt concussed but probably didn’t lose consciousness and went to the emergency dept where I was seen promptly and had a CT scan within a couple of hours
They found that I had a skull fracture and kept me in overnight for observation. All I remember from that time was an irresistible need to sleep. Which I did. And not much else. No eating. Not much drinking. Then I got an IV drip and some anti emetics that did the trick

Speaking of disclosures where offense should have tried harder, does anyone remember the allegedly compromised counterterrorism operations by a vendors reporting? I do. Intelligence operations are subject to scrutiny from third parties. It's actually in the rules. Be better.
Third party detection has been a thing since before computers. It's very easy to look at securing your operations against discovery by your target, but third parties must be considered. That little grandma reporting what looked like a drug deal can get you hemmed up just as fast.
That vendor didn't owe anyone any favors. They did their job, and while I was disappointed that CT accesses may have been lost, that's their fault. I can only speculate that they didn't pull out the best kit to get after people they intended to kill in short order.

Getting ready to set out on an 8-hour drive to Arkansas with my mom and grandmother. Mom yells out at me to get a bag of oranges out for my grandmother.

Me: “How many?”

Mom: “The whole bag. She eats about 20 of em a day.”

This is, and always has been, a lie. The UK does have control and #FreedomOfMovement is not an immigration system, but a reciprocal right. But @Digbylj’s tweet illustrates one thing very clearly: Brexiters are rattled and they are boiling it back down to freedom to movement. 1/
This is as predictable as it is tragic. Tragic because it will again make EU citizens at home in the UK the main attack line. And tragic because this could have been prevented by sucking the air out of this argument over the last two years — this resilience was not built up. 2/
Not only that: the main campaign behind a #PeoplesVote has done the exact opposite. With its roots in Open Britain, the basis has long since been the idea that #FreedomOfMovement must be “mended”. This line is being spun to this day, most recently by Tony Blair. 3/

I didn’t realize that divorce cts in the US (some worse than others) are set up 2 asset-strip and discard the more dependent spouse, like venture capitalists
