1. U.S. Healthcare System
To fix what's ailing the U.S. healthcare system requires foresight and insight. Demagogues like Elizabeth Warren don't have a clue. She thinks we are not 'investing' enough in healthcare.

2. Let us take a look at the canard that U.S. is not 'investing' enough in healthcare. We 'invest' (@ewarren's word for spending) far more than any other country in the world. Here's per capita healthcare spending for comparable countries.

3. Now you might think we are spending plenty, but govt isn't spending enough to help the poor, the elderly, the vets. Turns out that's not true either. As a %age of GDP, U.S. govt is spending as much as others, but serving only a fraction of the population instead of everybody.

4. In other words, if we had a better system and U.S. govt were efficient enough, U.S. would already be providing European style universal healthcare with the amount of money U.S. govt is already spending on healthcare. The issue is not govt control so much as govt incompetence.

5. U.S. Healthcare Spending is Astronomical

Look at this chart. Keep in mind this compares U.S. Healthcare Spending with the entire GDP of the other nations mentioned. We spend more just on healthcare than the entire GDP of U.K. and almost as much as the entire GDP of Russia.

6. Being the richest country in the world is not a reason to issue a hunting license to forked tongue politicians to waste people's hard earned money. Govt has 100% control over Veterans Admin, for example, and has made a mess of it.

7. The moment govt makes VA a shining example of govt managed healthcare, I'll believe the U.S. govt is ready to handle universal healthcare. Until then, the socialists should lay off their ideological pipe and focus on demanding the govt be more efficient, not bigger.
