X : What culture helps with mapping?
Me : Mapping does not require any specific culture. It just requires an understanding that context matters and it is worth examining before making a choice ...
... culture is more commonly brought up with management methods and normally in the form of an excuse i.e. the method is right just your culture is wrong, similar to the old line of "the strategy is right, it's your execution" ...
... in almost all circumstances when I hear demands for the "right" form of "culture" or "execution" the cause is some magic "one size fits all method" that doesn't work everywhere combined with believers who won't question the method.
... I don't trust methods which can't explain their context and constraints.
X : So what constraints are there with mapping?
Me : It allows you to communicate your landscape but it won't tell you what to do.
