1/ Just finished building a chatbot that uses OpenAI's GPT-3 model, text-davinci-003, to answer questions about atomic habits. Excited to see how this can help people learn and internalize the concepts! #chatbot #OpenAI #atomichabits
2/ I read @JamesClear's Atomic Habits and I'm blown away by the insights I gained. The idea of making small incremental changes to build good habits has completely changed my perspective on personal growth.
3/ With the help of word embeddings, the chatbot can accurately identify the topic of the question and provide a concise and relevant answer. This is especially useful for people who are just starting to learn about the concept of atomic habits.

TLDR: ADHD is a life-threatening condition. Systems, routines, and structures keep me alive. Ignorant critiques of these strategies are ableist. Let's do better. Happy Monday!

Every year many of us make resolutions that are almost always self-improvement focused.

I cannot think of a better way to improve yourself than to allocate some time daily towards self-education.

🧵 on my favorite way to do it- listening to podcasts!

Have you read the bonus chapter: 'The biology of Bad Behavior' from @JamesClear's bestseller #AtomicHabits?

If not yet then do read it (At the end of the thread I have mentioned how to get access).

Below is a #thread on my key insights/reflections from the chapter:

#Books
Our cravings & desires are influenced by our biology.

There is research data available to prove that exposure to lead (chemical element) had a direct correlation with increased crime rates in US.
Bad habits 'could' be a biological condition and NOT moral failing.

There are some evidences that altering the structure of brain not only ignites our cravings for bad behaviors, but can also eliminate them.

Atomic Habits - 10 Ways To Hack A Better Life

@JamesClear spent 6 years researching, writing, and thinking about habits.

Habits are the compound interest of self-improvement.

1. Systems > Goals

Goals are what you want to achieve. Systems help you get there.

You don't rise to the level of your goals, you fall to the level of your systems.

Winners and losers have the same goals, it's the process that separates one from the other.
2. Osmosis

The quality of our life depends on the quality of our habits. Surround yourself with people who have good habits that you want to incorporate into your life. Image

Just finished #AtomicHabits by @JamesClear and here are my favorite quotes/ takeaways from the book: Atomic habits by James Clear
If you can get 1% better each day for one year, you'll end up 37 times better by the time you're done.
You should be far more concerned about your current trajectory then your current returns. Your outcomes are a lagging measure of your habits.

Cannot recommend #AtomicHabits by @JamesClear highly enough, it’s worth the hype. There were so many fascinating anecdotes and examples, and it has one of the best openings to a non-fiction novel I’ve read in a while.

Here are just a few of my key takeaways

THREAD 👇
1/ Making just a small 1% improvement every day can lead to a significantly different outcome. 40-50% of our actions on any given day are out of habit, and the true influence of your habits is even greater than the numbers suggest.
2/ Even simply listing and calling out your bad habits can initiate change.

MY TAKEAWAYS FROM ATOMIC HABITS by @JamesClear

A spectacular book that focuses on building HABITS following SYSTEMS to achieve RESULTS - Instead of the traditional GOAL BASED approach.

It's a highly engaging read with plenty of practical examples .

#BookRecommendation
2/20
Your OUTCOMES are a lagging measure of your HABITS . Although difficult to appreciate on a daily basis , they MATTER IMMENSELY.
Change your habit ,to change the outcome.

It doesn't matter WHERE you are currently,
CHANGE YOUR HABIT TO CHANGE THE TRAJECTORY OF YOUR LIFE!👇
3/20
You do not RISE to the level of your GOALS .You FALL to the level of your SYSTEMS .

Why so ?

Both WINNERS & LOSERS have a Goal . What then sets them apart ?

It's having a SYSTEM in place.
Systems are forever & they result in continuous SELF IMPROVEMENT .

Atomic Habits by @JamesClear week-2
(Have initiated a few changes in the routine following the principles of this book, so far so good. Hope they will turn into part of habits)
#WeekendReading
#LearningTogether
1. It’s not about any single accomplishment. It is about the cycle of endless refinement and continuous improvement. Ultimately, it is your commitment to the process that will determine your progress.
2 If you’re having trouble changing your habits, the problem isn’t you. The problem is your system. Bad habits repeat themselves again and again not because you don’t want to change, but because you have the wrong system for change.
