IN THE SHADOW OF SPINDRIFT HOUSE is a bit of a departure for Mira--it's in many ways more of a Seanan work, which made the authorial voice a fun challenge, since I needed to justify it being a part of the Grant oeuvre.
It's about mysteries, and family, and the dangers we pull down on our own heads. It's about Dagon. I've been approaching the Deep Ones from various angles for a while now: with this book, I think I may have finally said what needed saying.
It's about what we lose when we leave home, and what we lose when we find it.
It is also, somewhat tangentially, about the true, pure love that can exist between a man and his chickens.

I mean, probably? Historically, there have been eBook editions. But that's not what I'm encouraging people to order right now, and it's not up to me when, or if, it happens.

I do! Part of @SubPress's whole "deal" is that they publish little works of art. These editions are absolutely gorgeous, and they cost enough to make that $40 is actually a reasonable price point.

I don't normally recommend treating books as an investment--they deserve to be treated as books--but once one of these novellas sells out, the books can generally be resold for at minimum what you paid for them. So there's not a lot of risk here.

That's more up to you than to me. We have a good relationship, but it's partially based on "her books make us money." That's normal for an author/publisher relationship. If you venture into Spindrift House, the odds are good.
