NEW: #Saudi Public Prosecutor states investigations of Saudi feminists have concluded and indictments prepared. Unclear where this is headed.

Saudi feminist activists were arrested in May/June 2018, & there have been reports of torture and harassment.
Surprised no mention of “foreign involvement” which state used before when smearing #Saudi feminists. Treason accusation was favorite, used by apologists. Public Prosecution only references “coordinated activism” targeted “safety and stability”.

Did state forget its own story?
#Saudi feminist’s sister @alia_ww: On June 2, 2018, Loujain faced worst type of torture. She thought she wasn’t going to live another day on earth. Every confession she signed was under torture & threat of murder (and rape). She was not allowed a lawyer.

Meanwhile, #Saudi pro-gov nationalists, like Sattam Al Saud, are holding polls on whether “traitors” should be beheaded or not. I am sick & tired of these accounts. Since when was it okay to publicly call for violence. — Sattam has been involved in lots other shady activity, btw.
In addition to lpro-gov nationalist accounts, #Saudi domestic media (Sabq, Okaz, Sharq Awsat, etc) is covering news by emphasizing that Saudi feminists are traitorous with foreign ties (left out of Public Prosecution statement) and that they confessed and were never tortured.
NEW: #Saudi Deputy Public Prosecutor issues further statements to local media on #Saudi feminist activists: all treated well, calls/visits allowed, most impt:
*denies* torture reports and says 3 separate internal investigations concluded no torture(!!).

For the record: I woke up to endless stream of trolls. No surprise that majority were replying to my tweet on Sattam AlSaud. Like I said, he’s into shady Twitter sh*t. Here’s one threat, stating: “come you dog, you & your husband, we want to try a sword on you, it’s been awhile.”
#Saudi bots are now filling up my mentions with new replies to Sattam tweet that include image of anti-Treason laws in US. They’re claiming that US executes traitors, and so doing the same to Saudi feminists, like Loujain, is legitimate.
