Invited by the Kenyan High Commission to speak on University Exit Strategy to 400 Kenyan students next week. Super excited😊
5-7 months before graduation, do you have a career plan? Do you know what you need to do to get a job? Do you possess excellent interviewing skills? Do you know what it takes to set up your own business after Uni? These and many more are the questions I’ll be answering next week.
For a lot of graduating students, life after graduation is one of the topmost worries they have. The significant rise in graduate unemployment adds to this pressing worry. The job market is highly competitive & a lot of graduates cannot seem to get a graduate job upon graduation.
Employers look for skills, attitude & commercial awareness in their new hires (basically work ready graduates).Unfortunately, a lot of graduating students are not ready for the world of works, partly because they don’t even know what it entails & what skills they need to succeed.
Graduates who want to get the best jobs need to distinguish themselves, first, by understanding what companies and employers are looking for, then, positioning themselves for such opportunities. Basically, they need to stand out in the job market.
For an update on this thread, please check back at the end of this week☺️☺️
