NY Times: Constitution Is The Greatest Threat to Our Democracy

Just who does the "our" refer to? Have a look at how the opinion columnist feels about the Constitution: "... there’s sentimental attachment to the institution, tied to popular mythology about the Constitution."
Liberalism today has ZERO confidence in its convictions. If liberals are convinced their idea of presidential election by popular vote has merit, why don't they have the confidence to actually persuade people to support a Constitutional amendment?
Only lunatics or intellectual wusses believe that working around the Constitution rather than working through it serves "our democracy" better. That is Orwellian-speak of leftist totalitarians, not democracy lovers. Such people are either fools or liars, or most likely both.
