This is good design. Font placement good. Use of white space also. Good texturing on the background. The asterisk detracts from the font. Never compromise the font or the message. Other than that solid work.
Drop shadow is a design relic now though and should never really be used unless it's for lighting placement. It's not great for adding depth, it just elevates a flat rasterized image and looks fake.
I mean that person put some serious work (most likely for free) into that.

Yeah that’s not what happened. You missed the joke completely about the Great Depression to the point where you went off in several people’s DMs about it. Trust me, they told me.

3 days ago I got the ball rolling on *all of this by asking one-single-simple question: What’s being conserved here?

I have yet to get an answer. 3 days later I’m assuming it’s on purpose.

White ppl alone get to exist in a world that is free from collective accountability for the bad things other ppl who are white do.

We get it be Individuals.

Whatever stereotypes we suffer, they never impact our wealth or safety.

That is white supremacy.
US infrastructure (schools, prisons, voting, housing, lending) is systemically soaked in racism and calling that out means white people have to grapple with knowing that they benefit.

White fragility is what happens when white people begin to feel collective accountability.
Pushing past white fragility to see things as they really stand is empowering.

Possessing the great gift of individuality means that we as white people often look at racism as an individual choice, a matter of the heart, a problem of specific upbringing.

White House spokesperson Kerri Kupec this morning, regarding Christine Blasey Ford’s allegation:

“On Friday, Judge Kavanaugh ‘categorically and unequivocally’ denied this allegation. This has not changed. Judge Kavanaugh and the White House both stand by that statement."
Pretty remarkable that the White House is taking the tack of just reiterating a one-sentence denial for a fourth day, despite the changed facts on the ground.

Here is the entire painting from @ChristiesInc. It has an unfinished quality to it, blank canvas, interesting use of white space. But, for me, the main success is in the texture. This has a painterly feel that represents the era but with a modernity to the composition.
Most GAN portrait artists complain about the eyes in their generative works. They are either dark or artifacted, it’s hard to produce compelling eyes.

These are dark and brooding. Like holes into his soul.

With the upcoming Neil-Gaiman-orchestrated "Dreaming" line at DC comics, I thought it might be time to revisit Neil Gaiman's wonderful "Sandman."

It's funny, I was just thinking today about the late sixties paranoia about cultural psychosis and insanity.

Modern pop culture is similarly fixated on the idea of insanity rippling through the popular unconscious.

"Legion", "Westworld", etc.

It's almost surprising that it took as long as it did for Gaiman to write for "Doctor Who."

Gaiman's abstract/symbolic cosmos is very much in keeping with Russell T. Davies' approach to concepts like "the Time War."
