Hint: If I say "you will have X by Y," contacting me prior to Y to ask why you don't have X yet doesn't make me work faster. It actually pisses me off and makes me work slower. Not on purpose; because sometimes, the brain is a jerk, and my brain says "WELL WE'RE ON STRIKE NOW."
Me: Come on. We don't want to be jerks.
Brain: No YOU don't want to be a jerk YOU have to live with consequences I get to live inside this SWEET SKULL CASTLE and I say FUCK EVERYTHING.
My brain lives in a skull and constantly plots my downfall.

Organizing a dinner for a large group of nerds is wild, because we range from "eh, don't like the taste of cilantro" to "if a walnut enters the house, my flesh will boil from my bones and my skeleton will rain down fire upon your family as it crumbles."
Here's a fun fact about people with life-threatening food allergies: most of us have been exposed to the things we're allergic to at least once by "friends" who thought we were exaggerating.
I nearly died at a writer's conference that listened to my saying "I am very allergic" and heard "so we can put it on everyone's plate but yours, got it." The oils went into the air, I stopped breathing.

Elsie just took a TERRIFYING fall off the cat tree. Nothing seems to be broken, but she hit the ground hard, and then started to wail.
To everyone now telling me to go to the vet: I know my cat, she is not injured, she did not have a stroke, this is why I don't talk about my cats as much as I want to.
Elsie falling off the tree was startling enough in the moment. The panic attack I am now having is making it a lot harder for me to work.

Okay, so: this is the base campaign my D&D group is currently working with, and it is CHARMING. Fun, modular, and remarkably welcoming as a setting. I have very few complaints.
(The few complaints I DO have are all easily alleviated by patching in pieces of the base 5E books. You will probably have different complaints. It's a patchable situation.)
The equipment packs are *fingerkiss* absolutely perfect, and super cute, and super handy. Like, having a physical reference makes it so much easier to remember stuff.

I have fully clocked from the second you walked in that you were meeting someone you hadn’t actually seen before and it makes me perk up and pay attention because if you don’t know this dude neither do I.

I’m hoping this goes well for you but also I check on you doubly.
I’m trying not to fuck up a vibe, god knows we all need to get laid, but I’m going to suggest water if one of you is drinking faster and doubly if he’s pushing drinks on you.

If I feel like he’s trying to get you wasted I might even make a light drink unless you seem into it.

@ezraklein Don’t understand why people don’t get this. 3 districts, each with 1k voters. In 1 everyone votes D. In the other 2, 501 vote R and 499 vote D. You end up with 2 R reps and 1 D, even though there were 1,002 R votes and 1,998 D votes. 2x the votes, 1/2 the wins.
@ezraklein Yes, that’s how it works. We know that. But when the districts are INTENTIONALLY gerrymandered to do this, as they have been, people get pretty quickly disenchanted with the system. The House of Representatives seems decidedly unrepresentative.
@ezraklein And it’s supposed to be the proportionate one. You have states where one party consistently gets more votes, but has fewer representatives. That shouldn’t be a frequent occurrence unless you’re drawing lines to make it work that way on purpose.

I began writing on Thursday. It wasn't planned, that's simply when the words started to come. Or put another, more painfully truthful way, when I finally stopped finding reasons not to write.
For almost as long as I've been aware of stories, I've imagined creating my own. And I have, in a way. Ideas, and notes, and countless unfinished drafts. But nothing complete; nothing whole. Not a single thing I could show to someone else.
There always seemed to be a 'reason' of some kind or another. Being uninspired; needing to do research; waiting for the perfect time; saving up my money to buy a new personal computer to write on; wanting to clear the deck of any distractions; having too many distractions;
