@steffanwatkins @amlivemon The total demand in the country is 25,000 MW. With the collapse of Venezuela’s industry over the past decade, the demand dropped to 14,000 MW. Even with that drop, the current output is less than 12,000 MW. Regular blackouts have been the norm since 2006

@steffanwatkins @amlivemon This blackout was not due to “sabotage” but a result of a forest fire on an area lacking maintenance. This has happened many times in the past, & once back in 2013 the gvmt even blamed an iguana for causing a similar failure (& a blakcout of +20 hours) caraotadigital.net/nacionales/de-…

1/ Perhaps the most enraging aspect of the VA blackface scandal is the way some (not all or even most, but some) white liberals are saying things like, "well, I mean, it's the south, and we can't do much better than Ralph Northam in VA..." so we should accept it & move on...
2/ First off, to hell with you. Doug Wilder was better than this in VA and that shit was 30 years ago. Do better white people. Demand better. Second, the comment presumes whites must lead. But why not just back POC and avoid the bullshit of white racism altogether?...
3/ Third, if you think all southern whites are blackface wearing, KKK costume wearing assholes YOU'RE an asshole. Plenty of us who've been in the south all our lives and families go back 350+ years here know better...

And lasting that long as a tiny indie is a remarkable feat.
