Judge ABJ just smacked Manafort & his lawyers down for consistently using 'no collusion' in statements & filings, essentially saying that it appears Manafort is seeking help from the WH bc he's not on trial for, nor been convicted of collusion. She's awesome! #WednesdayWisdom
2-ABJ has also made it clear that she 'understands' that Manafort has not exhibited any remorse..
3-Manafort will be receiving credit for time served.
4-ABJ has also said that Manafort has 'squandered' the chance to plea for a lighter sentence bc of his 'continued spin & lack of candor'..seems like she's focused on his lack of respect & repentance and may hit him hard. Tho she's said she's staying out of what Ellis did.
5-ABJ said that while Manafort 'isn't public enemy #1, he's not a victim either' and that her ruling isn't an indictment of Mueller's investigation.
6-@kendilanian1 reporting that ABJ appears to have laid the groundwork for quite a harsh sentence. That ABJ has said that she is bound to stay within the sentencing guidelines. She's addressing each count of his conviction now..
7-It is very clear that ABJ is on to Manafort's scam in a big way. She's been pretty articulate about in her statements in court that this morning. Seems like she's also onto Trump...
8-ABJ has sentenced Manafort to an additional 3.5 yrs some of which must be served concurrently, and therefore he'll be serving about 7 yrs in total, unless he gets time off for good behavior.. wonder what the odds of that are!
9-The total of his sentences are the equivalent of 7.5 yrs. Manafort will be given time off for time served, so it appears to amount to just under 7 yrs in total.
10-@harrylitman is reporting that 7 yrs could not be the extent of what Manafort ends up serving, that it'll depend upon whether or not any state charges are brought for him now, which they could be.
