Yesterday we were discussing how best to arrange follow up care for a patient from a northern reserve.
Staff MD 1: Is there a hospital there?
Me: No, just a nursing station, and Edmonton is the closest tertiary centre.
Staff MD 2: Do the have power there?
Me: Yes...

What are you supposed to do as a Jr Trainee when staff do this & the whole team is laughing? I still don’t know how to confront this level of blatant #racism in medicine.
