Day 0: London to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port
I love blossom season. Oh well... another time.
Yeah, that last goodbye was tough. :(
I don’t normally do feelings. Years of working in tech beat that out of me. But...
Goodbye the Holloway Road, you absolute mess of a town.
Knew right away I’d stay forever if I could. It was the drunks the first night beating on a guy in a doorway that sealed it for me.
And all the people running after hoodie kids on bikes screaming for their phones back.
The outrageous (good+bad) shoplifting. The whole staff in the Tesco was out on the street one night mocking a hopeless shoplifter.
Facetimed with a random bloke’s girlfriend on the street to explain that “it wasn’t right.” when it probably was.
I’ll miss the midweek pub bands playing the Pogues. open.spotify.com/track/32soEc9h…
And endless chicken shops, police helicopters of a weekend, train lines, bridges, rundown buildings, skittish woof woof fox frens.
Not to mention Basil down the local. theguardian.com/uk-news/2019/m…
And let’s not forget the London riots either... when the police finally managed to hold a line on the third night along the border with Upper Street. They’ll never take the Holloway Road.
THEY WILL _NEVER_ TAKE THE HOLLOWAY ROAD.

(From my heart.)
I feel like it could have showered more, though.
Gate information at 1.55.
Airports are very different when you don’t have hand luggage.
The cross/bag was professionally weighed in by Ryanair staff at 8.9kg.
Gate 45. Repeat. Gate 45. GO TO GATE.
El aeropuerto.
Bye bye, everyone. See you in the European Union later.
What is that mile of space between the I and the last R? I’ve been staring at this for 40mins now.
It is so f**king great to be home. Hello Biarritz.
I’ve had a look at these Pyrenees now and they seem a bit high...
The sun is beautiful though.
Took a look around St-Jean before it got late.
Lovely walk along the walls.
Climbed up the walls to the citadel.
And then found there was an easier way.
Goodnight St-Jean.
Still killing it with my flap-jacque game.
I was given a shell and a bundle of documents.
Can’t wait to get some pens and colour in the cover on the credencial.
Stamp from St-Jean.
Looks easy.
