The more I think back on the Mueller probe the more I believe that we were being duped all along. First, the disciplined silence from the team, which was punctuated by the occasional indictments of persons closely associated w/ or from Russia made it seem Mueller was serious.

But given that he never insisted on making Trump testify, thus shielding him from an unavoidable perjury charge, it's clear he never was what we all needed him to be.

They are all acting as though we didn't actually watch the last two & a half years happen w/ our own eyes.

I remember a few times during the investigation thinking it was strange when the media would spot Mueller out in public, including one time when he and Don Jr. were coincidentally spotted sitting quite near one another at an airport.

No obvious security detail for Mueller.

The seriousness of a probe that was almost certainly going to place him in the crosshairs of one of the world's most corrupt and dangerous men (Putin), should have demanded a fairly tight, large, and constantly present seciurity detail.

Putin is a shameless murderer.

That there was no overt concern for Mueller's safety, given the number of corpses of Russians with insider knowledge of the country's 2016 efforts remains, to my mind, suspect.

And spare me all of the commentary about how Barr & Mueller are men of unimpeachable integrity.

Bullshit.

That is a thing that doesn't exist in Washington D.C. on its best day, let alone within the Republican Party to which both men belong where it has been long extinct.

So, I find myself in a locked loop. While it's clear that Mueller's report does not clear Trump nor members of his extended crime family of wrongdoing, it is also clear that his final report includes none of the high crimes or misdemeanors we know them to be guilty of.
