Flight 👉🏼simulations👈🏼 recreating the the crash of a Lion Air Boeing plane last year left pilots with less than 40 seconds to override a malfunctioning system.

Computer systems are NOT infallible.
Let’s stop pretending that they are.

The condemnation of Big Brother browsers for not catching “hate” and demands for more censorship
1. Ignores the fact that computer systems are not infallible (and human moderators are subject to bias)
2. Ignores the fact that political correctness has been politically weaponised
Criticism or even verbal expressions of dislike are not a credible predictor of violent attacks, because they are common human reactions.

What I suspect is a predictor is narcissistic and/or supremacist (of any sort) calls for violence or attacks againt an individual or group.
Consider all the mass murders reported in the last 10 yrs or so.
Despite likely gazillions of people “hating” their ex-spouses or partners, or neighbours or bosses etc - how many have actually committed a violent crime who weren’t narcissistic with an offended monumental ego?
What is a problem (besides the lone deranged offended narcissists with a superiority complex); are groups with that mindset that appeal to gullible disenfranchised youths etc & persuade their followers that group X has not just committed an offense, but should be punished for it
Perceived crimes against the ego of supremacist groups (who come in various colours, and/or differing religious and other ideologies) with calls by the “offended” group for punishment of the person or group that has caused offense is likely the major common predictor of violence.
In other words, IMO, the real danger for violence (besides psychopaths) lies in those w monumental egos, who take offense, and want to punish the perceived offender (or their surrogates) w violence.

Everyone has a capacity to strongly dislike or even hate.
Few would ever kill.
Groups that just criticise behaviour of another group, and recommend eg a boycott as a means of peacefully encouraging a change in behaviour (eg like against apartheid South Africa) are IMO not engaging in violent behaviour (and are different from violent extremists).
