You know what's fraudulent, NYT? Single-word quotes. I'm sure in context Steve said the IRS falsely, ridiculously called his garden variety mistake so bad they were pretending it was fraudulent. But you can't make an actual quote look bad, so you go with a single word. #FakeNews 
The Dems/media/GOPe attacked @StephenMoore for a week for not having a PhD even though Paul Volcker, like Steve, is a masters economist -- and Jay Powell has a bachelor's in political science and a law degree.

What they DON'T want to talk about is his fitness for the job, because then they would have to debate whether the Fed should consider commodity prices and whether Steve was right about the December rate hike being a mistake. (He was.)
They don't want Steve on the Fed because he'll be truly independent from the usual beltway groupthink that has resulted in so many grievous policy errors. And because Steve -- famously accessible to friends and critics alike -- would bring badly needed transparency to the Fed.
And if the media operatives think harassing @StephenMoore's ex-wife will cause him to withdraw or @realDonaldTrump to pitch him overboard then they learned nothing from their failed Kavanaugh smear campaign.
