1. When idiots scream that "in America speak English!" to Spanish speakers, remember: The US is one of the only mono-lingual industrial countries. And one of the worst in test scores.

Multi-lingual ones? Austria, Czech Rep, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Switzerland,(deep breath)...
2...Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Wales, Scotland, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Russia, Ukraine, Malta, Japan, Taiwan, India, Pakistan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Israel, UAE, China, Argentina, (deep breath)...
3...Canada...Okay, have to stop. But yes, both of our neighbors - Canada and Mexico - are multilingual.

So when you hear someone scream "How DARE you speak Spanish" - ask them if they really think the USA must be the dumbest country in the world. Should we also abandon math?

What set off my rage. Today I have seen three things:
1. WH saying theyll take at least 2 more years to get kids stolen from families reunited.
2. Bernie supporters saying they wont vote for any nominee but him.
3. Other dems saying they wont vote for Bernie as nominee....
...hwo do you look at these three things and not see the problem? We are in frigging 2019, and different sets of dems ALREADY proclaiming they won't vote if one of two definite outcomes occurs. Sanders either will or wont have the nomination. And there are people on each side...
...ready to not vote depending on which of those two realities occurs. The sun either will or wont come up tomorrow. Sanders either will or wont be the nominee. That means, based on what narcissists are saying, there are already groups of democrats who will not vote.....

1. Voting for President is not choosing favorite celebrity in the People's Choice Awards. It is not crowning a monarch who moves every part of government alone. Its not choosing who you want to have dinner with.

President is about policy. Full stop. Dems dont get it, GOP does...
2...your vote is not some gift you bestow upon a candidate, who must bow and cringe to all your demands to be worthy of your beneficence. The candidate is giving YOU something - a dedication to a career to bring you a policy option for self-government. If you say you....
3...don't "like" Biden or don't "like" Sanders or don't "like" Harris, unless you are saying "here are the policies they advance that I do not agree with," then you are an idiot and a narcissist. Republicans would - and have - line up behind a dead man if it meant they could....

1. Some are saying my statements about the threats from bacteria, fungi, viruses, climate change and financial recklessness is overstated. So read all this to see reality. Financial recklessness is included because, when you default as a nation, you dont have money for crises....

#Sensex touches 39000 and you get up reading up on how it has given a CAGR of 16% for 40 years. I do believe Equity is the asset class which can beat Inflation but the 16% cagr and the data is erroneous on different levels.Read the next few tweets.

2) The Sensex value as on April 3, 1979, was 124.15 and not 100, owing to the fact that the value of the index divisor has been arrived at by taking the average market capitalisation of all the 30 stocks for 1978-79. But are these numbers accurate?

Dear @jkenney & @AndrewScheer & #America .. Today was the one of the worst days of my life. I want you to keep an open mind with what I have to say; cause today I am angry. You see that man 👎 .. that man is my dearest person in my life.
You see; at 4 am this morning this man collapsed. He had a heart attack. If it wasn't for my night classes at night taking an EMR course at Nait; I wouldn't have been able to perform CPR on him.
If it wasn't for the 911 operator, who not only supported me by counting ... 1 2 3 4 ... 1 2 3 4 .... I'm not sure he'd be here. She went to school to train for this job.

A question that comes up a lot for me is “why do these people need to use that language? Why can’t they just be like everyone else and speak English/Finnish/Spanish/Italian/etc?”
Firstly, I rarely get that question from someone who speaks more than one language and I don’t think I’ve ever gotten it from a minority language speaker. It generally comes from a position of privilege, from a person who has never been othered because of their language
Secondly my focus is courts and fair trial. Sure, maybe you speak both Finnish and Swedish really well. Maybe you even work in a job everyday and speak Finnish. But at home, in your comfort zone, you speak Swedish

Right, so tomorrow is International Mother Language Day, and partially because I wont be at @LonGaeilge to waffle on about stuff in Irish, I'll waffle a bit about #IMLD here in English
I've no idea where this waffle will go, I'm just doing to lash into it without any direction in mind. #IMLD started in Bangladesh. Bangla is a language that is of central importance to #IMLD and to me personally.
If it wasn't for #Bangla, I know for certain that my #Gaeilge would not be what it is. It was when I started to learn Bangla that I also started going back to learning Irish.

1/The day of my 9 year old client's immigration court hearing, as we were riding the elevator down from my office, a man got in and smiled and asked my client if he was going to school. "No, I'm not going to school," he said.
2/"Well then are you going to do something fun?" asked the man. "Yeah!" said my client, and smiled. On the elevator ride up to the immigration court on the 25th floor, he giggled at how fast we were going.
3/My client's mother - back in the US after a 2012 deportation (she doesn't speak English or Spanish and couldn't explain to the border agents her fear of return) testified on my client's behalf, since he is 9 and unable to explain why he would be in danger in his home country.
