Hey, guys? I may have figured out Sanders' reluctance to release his tax returns. If I'm right, he WILL release ten years' returns (2008-2018) as soon as he's filed for 2018 -- because the return he's always been worried about is for 2007.

Why do I say this? Because his wife, Jane, allegedly profited from ad buys in his first Senate campaign in 2006:

The Sanders denied it at the time, but think: the biggest ad buys are made late in the year. Jane's ($ millions) commissions likely wouldn't have been paid until 2007 -- meaning they'd be disclosed on their 2007 1040, not their 2006's.

Sanders, stammering a bit strangely about his wife, promised to release ten years of returns in 2016 -- but didn't. Was that because they would have included 2007?

Then he started promising to release ten years' returns in 2019 -- but he's stalling until after '18's is filed.

He's carefully delaying to avoid releasing 2007's return.

2017's return would reveal whether he and Jane self-dealt during his 2006 campaign (much as Trump has done).

We need to see his 2007 return.

P.S. Bernie Sanders' 2007 financial disclosure form has this very weird line item. It's a number so high ($50MM) that there's no way it's from ad buys, but it's still pretty weird given his "we're poor!" claims. Typo?
Alternately, as @2nPac pointed out, ten years (including '18) would make '08, not '07, the mystery year. Q remains: why's Sanders timing his release of returns to exclude year(s) that would have been disclosed had he kept his promise to release them in '16, or earlier in '19?
@2nPac For example, '08 is when Burlington College began making pymts to a family friend's vacation business: freebeacon.com/politics/sande…
Kickbacks? No idea. Could be anything.

The point is, there seems to be SOMETHING iffy that would have been revealed in '16, but as of 4/15/19 won't be.
@2nPac PPS: Another piece of evidence suggesting Sanders is hiding something that's revealed in his 2008 tax return: in 2016, he promised to release 8 (not 10, as now) years of returns -- but didn't. That's 2015 through... 2008. factcheck.org/2016/04/sander…
