Megan Condis, who is still protected, participated in a softball interview on Vox, where she spouted more nonsense.
One of your primary duties as a journalist is to convey WHY what you are telling your audience is important. Here the writer says white nationalism in gaming is important because a game made a lot of money.
Of course Condis cites the ESA survey, which is not entirely accurate. But hey, she's a qualitative researcher, she doesn't care about data.
Here, Megan Condis gets her timeline wrong. Bannon said those words long after gamergate had mostly sizzled out. As presented, she makes it seem like Bannon planned it. That is not the case.
She parrots the easy talking point that gamers just hate women and minorities and see them invading their spaces. There is no evidence to support that gamers felt this way in any significant numbers.
If you read only one of these paragraphs, make it this one. Megan Condis believes that people flash Nazi imagery in chat in the hopes that people respond so they can tell them, "come check out my neo-Nazi forum!"
