It is clear to me that based on the people Betsy Devos surrounds herself with, and her own profiteering off the backs of our communities, she is unfit to oversee the Department of Education.
Betsy Devos is selecting aids that profit off the billions of taxpayer dollars flowing from the Dept of Education to corporate interests.
She also supports the President’s budget of slashing $8.5 billion, or 12%, of the Department of Education’s budget, at the same time the Defense budget is increasing by $33 billion.
She has no problem with investing in debt collectors, troubled medical providers, and other companies that fail to do well by their consumers.
Her brother is Erik Prince, the former CEO of Blackwater, a private military contractor responsible for killing 14 unarmed civilians in Baghdad.
These private military contractors benefit from increased Pentagon spending and perpetuating endless wars at the same time our communities are suffering with the slashing of the Education Department’s budget.
