also, it is a little weird that this essay spends about 15% of its length making a case against open borders and 85% of its length making a case that people who are for open borders are liberal sops.
and even if one accepts all the logic here, how do refugees and asylum seekers -- people who have been denied their earthly home and rejected from their earthly citizenship -- fit in? Might we have room to welcome a number equivalent to 0.5% of our population?
