if press could mention many times today that Barr was inserted into DOJ bc Trump needed a concrete backstop to protect him and needed to get rid of Sessions who had recuses himself, that would be helpful.

since Sessions recused himself, the tough calls re: Mueller report would fall to Rosenstein. there was no way Trump was going to trust his presidency to Rosenstein. so he fired Sessions and put in his protector, Barr.
