1.If you are a Police Officer
And you delight in snuffing life out of innocent citizens, then you are a murderer from your father's house. It was not the uniform that made you a killer. @PoliceNG @segalink @MBuhari @Police
It was not the uniform that made you a killer. Are you the only one in uniform? Are you the only one stressed by the harsh operating environment?
If you do not know when to use your firearms, go and study Force Order 237.

1. You may open fire when you are attacked and your life is in danger and there is NO OTHER WAY to save your life.
2. You may open fire when someone is about to be killed other than by order of court and there is no other way to save him or her from being killed.

3. You may open fire when a suspect who is already in LAWFUL custody attempts to escape provided
provided the offence he is charged with or has been convicted of is a felony or misdemeanour
4. You may open fire when dispersing rioters unlawfully assembled together or to prevent them from committing serious offences against life or property e.g. arson, murder etc(they must not be less than 12 in number)
after a reasonable time following the issuance of the word of proclamation

5. You may open fire if you cannot by any other means re-arrest a person who takes to flight in order to avoid arrest provided the offence he is charged with carries
the death penalty or 7 years imprisonment or more.
@PoliceNG Now take note of the following:
Protesters and rioters are two different categories of people. Know the difference.

I have used MAY open fire. I did not say must or can open fire.
This is because even if you act within these provisions, Force Order 237 makes it clear that each incident will still be investigated to be sure your use of firearm was justified and not unnecessary or disproportionate use of violence.
It may even warrant your being arraigned in court for the court to vet and be satisfied that your use of firearms was in accordance with the law.
The Supreme law of the land is the Constitution which guarantees the right of citizens to life and personal liberty unless they break the law, then can be deprived of that liberty in accordance with the law.
No one has vested in you the right to dish out death penalty to anyone other than to save your own life or the lives of others from death. @PoliceNG If you like you can be angry with this post. I don't care.
@PoliceNG What I know is if you take education from this you will be more responsible in the way you handle your firearms. Ultimately it will save you from being dismissed and paraded as murderers. It will save you from being arraigned in court for murder
and it will save you from being "hanged by the neck until you be dead".

May God protect you in the discharge of your duties. Do your work with conscience and fairness to everyone.
Then you will be fine.
