THREAD: 1/ Dear @HouseDemocrats Here’s a clue on how to change the narrative on approaching the topic of impeachment. Yes, we need to proceed with impeachment whether or not the Senate takes up conviction. This is absolutely about our national security,
2/ and the fact that a foreign enemy interfered in the free exercise of our democratic elections and sought to influence one political party’s campaign over another; notwithstanding that the campaign involved ACTIVELY participated in leveraging that influence without contacting
3/ federal law enforcement about the numerous contacts with that foreign enemy. Mueller’s report not only points to evidence of such conduct, Trump’s campaign OPENLY conspired to lie, obfuscate and cover up their engagement in treasonous conduct. Our country remains at risk of
4/ Russia’s persistent attacks and disruption of our government; yet the president and Republican members of Congress refuse to support efforts to mitigate further attacks on our institutions. Stop making this about Trump. This is about securing our country and our government.
5/ This is not a difficult thing to convey to the American public Republican or Democrat. It is not a hard reach to convince Americans that we’ve been attacked...only this time through our cyber resources. Stop hedging and being pussies about it. The American people have given
/6 a mandate (via 2018 elections) to protect and provide oversight of this administration. Your public vacillating over this is appalling and irresponsible. Do your job or else you will not be found worthy to govern and history will not reflect kindly upon your cowardice.
