I hate leftist articles like this, because they ignore the right-wing perspective. If I'm an evil greedy capitalist paying for labor by the hour, why should I care about longer hours vs. just hiring more employees?

Wages in China can be as low as $1/hour. Why should I, the greedy evil capitalist, want to force 50 employees to work 80 hour weeks for $4000, when I can just have 100 employees work 40 hour weeks for the same $4000???

The lefty argument is that forcing employees to work longer hours makes them less efficient. Why can't greedy capitalists see that? It means they'd be getting less productivity from the 50/80 mix than the 100/40 mix for their $4000. Why are evil capitalists failing at greed???

In case you were curious what’s inside a smart IoT lightbulb
The PCB is essentially a power supply, with the WiFi module plugged into it (FCC ID TE7LBM100). The antenna portion sticking out will stick up through that rectangular whole in the LED portion, along with the power wires.
This smart bulb is one that allows shades of white (different color temperatures), so it mixes two types of LEDs, and has two power wires (plus ground) controlled by the WiFi module.

I said "greatest" not "best", as I'm using a different yardstick. Ironman is the greatest not only because it was very good, but how it sets everything in motion. It starts an ambitious plan that somehow worked over the next 11 years.
Likewise, the first Avengers movie is very good, but what makes it great is that it actually was very good. Hollywood can stick 6 of your favorite superheroes in a movie and fanboys will flock to it no matter how bad it is, so it doesn't have to be good. But it was.

I had to get a new gift card at the grocery store to donate to Biden's campaign. I donate $5 to every campaign under a unique email to track their spam, it's getting expense.
Every Democrat uses Act Blue as their donation platform, even Biden. Four years ago, the campaigns used a variety of platforms, and if I remember right, only Bernie used Act Blue.
Act Blue is from the very activist/progressive wing of the Democrat party, so it's interesting that even the mainstream Democrats use them now.

So, the "left" critics of open borders are obviously disingenuous, racist, and in some cases barely-crypto fascists, but it's still worth talking about why open borders are important, from a socialist perspective. We don't have to take seriously the bad actors to articulate this.
If I have one major criticism of Marx and many other Western socialist thinkers, it's that they dramatically underestimated/ignored/were themselves too immersed in nationalism, racism, patriarchy, and other modes of dividing workers against each other.
Engels was a good example. Ultimately he couldn't escape all the ideological currents of his time and place, buying into anti-Irish racism that deemed the Irish biologically inferior and stating that the English workers could never achieve socialism until "free" of the Irish

Right-wingers refuse to acknowledge that the big left-leaning coastal cities they decry are full of the people their Real America throws away.

No wonder they fantasize about getting rid of us altogether.
As a proudly rural-raised American, I am keenly conscious that cities like San Francisco, New York, Seattle, Portland, and LA are full of refugees--cultural and economic--not just from other countries but from American hometowns that made their lives impossible.
I've been seeing right-wing talking points about how our exponentially-rising homeless populations are due to decadent liberal mismanagement. They don't consider that it's "red state" and "red county" America responsible, too.
